TSR strikes again

Buggybooz, creator of the amazingly versatile Kitchen Basic, multiple charming plant sets, and a beautiful bedroom set for TSR’s previous community target, Reflexsims forum/Black Pearl Sims, discovered that several of her plant pot meshes were included in a pay set by TSR’s Shakeshaft. These files were named as if Shakeshaft had created them, but internally still bore Buggy’s identifying information. Buggybooz reported this, expecting that, at the very least, the stolen meshes would be removed from TSR. Instead, her MTS2 account was hacked, her downloads deleted, and her TOU changed to be paysite-friendly. Investigation by Delphy revealed that the hacker was none other than TSR’s Thomas, who has been known for some time to use the name “Hamilton” to attempt to recruit MTS2 creators for his paysite.

Delphy’s explanation of the investigation: http://forums.sims-community.com/showthread.php?t=66708

There are discussion threads at PMBD, SimsCave, GoS, and other forums, as well.

There are quite a few creators at TSR whose work I like, despite my opinion of their character and/or intelligence . Shakeshaft was one of them. Now I have my doubts as to whether or not Shakeshaft deserves credit for “her” work or not. For years, TSR “artists” have blatantly copied and charged for ideas that originated in the free community – Maxis Match sets, anyone? extracted maxis meshes? age conversions? – but at least they made (okay, extracted) their own meshes.

Instead of changing their dirty business practices, TSR continues flailing about, trying to discredit the free community in general. It would be laughable if they didn’t have so much personal information on so many people. If you’re a paying member – and it’s not just because you’re keeping an active account in order to funnel files to the booty – what TSR-vindicating stories are you telling yourself today?

Hiya. That whole thing was beyond the pale. I honestly thought that the folks at TSR weren’t as low-life as the owner, but I guess give it enough time and the dirt rubs off.

I tried to find something to like about that community initially, but gee — most of them act like paid cheerleaders for EA.

Anyway, you’re awesome, and thanks muchly for whatever beauty I’m about to download. 🙂

When will TSR get that huge stick out of their bratty asses? They keep sending in crap, trying to discredit everyone else (like how the reported GoS to their server provider or wahtever and now the site is down- on basis which is just laughable) and now they go around stelling meshes from the free community, and take the credit for them themselves.

I honestly thought that they couldn’t possible go any lower after the whole Personal Imformation thing that happened a while back- Guess I was wrong.

    (Pardon my language)

Some things never change. Many (not all) of the TSR mods & the owners are downright creeps. Years ago I had a TS1 site.
Another site owner claimed I stole her stuff. She didn’t post anything in her policy about not included her animation files
with creations made by others using her animations, the only thing in her policy was that people were allowed to include her meshes,
etc as long as credit was given to her. Even after she and I worked out the problem, TSR attacked me in their forums, several moderators
posted downright nasty messages about me, they posted my address (my old address thankfully they never managed to get ahold of where I lived
at the time this all happened), posted photos of my kids in these messages, saying horrible things about them as well. They only removed all of
these horrible posts after I spoke with another mod at TSR whom deleted all these posts from the forums and done or said something to the others
attacking me to make them stop.

Two years ago I found some of my own creations in their TS1 section listed as being created by other artists – even though I don’t have TS1
anymore, I was able to tell it was mine by the small mistake I made in it, there’s no way someone else made the same exact mistake in the same
exact place I did. Most of TSR are hypocrites, liars, trouble makers and theifs. My guess is the reason they went “free” is because so many
people found them out and wouldn’t pay for subscriptions anymore.
